Welcome
On behalf of the Lake Hayes A&P Show Committee, I’m thrilled to continue as President of the Lake County A&P Society for 2025. Together with our dedicated committee, we’ve been busy planning what promises to be an unforgettable 109th Annual Lake Hayes A&P Show on Saturday, January 11th, 2025.
We’re fortunate to host this event in the stunning Lake Hayes, providing the perfect backdrop for a day of competition, entertainment, and fun.
This year’s theme, ‘Back to Basics,’ celebrates timeless skills and traditions. Join us for demonstrations on composting, preserving, floral styling, and upcycling – perfect for reconnecting with traditional skills and learning something new. We’re also excited to welcome back Show Jumping to the 2025 Show, adding even more thrilling competition to the day’s events.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our Principal Partner, Queenstown Airport. The Airport’s generous support has enabled a new Children’s area – ‘Queenstown Airport Kids Zone,’ ensuring all-day entertainment and fun for children of all ages. We also extend a warm welcome to our new Platinum Partners: Coronet Peak, Royalburn, and Ayrburn, whose contributions help bring this show to life.
Sustainability is a priority for us, with a goal of becoming a waste-free event. Thanks to the efforts of our community, we’ve reduced waste by 50% in the past two years, and we encourage everyone to bring reusable cups and containers to help reduce our environmental footprint.
We’re introducing new pet and lifestyle categories, alongside returning favourites, including the crowd-favourite Hobby Horse competition. With exciting entries in the Equestrian and Sheep sections, and the Pavilion Bar offering a great view of the arena, there’s something for everyone.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, partners, and committee for making this day possible. We can’t wait to see you at the show!
Tally-ho – see you there!
